“The time has come to abandon stereotypes in resolving conflicts in Caucasus,” Abkhaz Deputy Foreign Minister Maxim Gvindjiya said talking to a REGNUM correspondent. “We have been telling Georgia long ago that we need to live on – trade with each other, develop normal relations instead of thinking to make someone dependant,” the official added. Maxim Gvindjiya stressed that “development of the relations will be mutually beneficial both for Georgia and Abkhazia.”
The Abkhaz deputy foreign minister is taking part in the International Summer Academy held at Lithuanian Dubingiai conference center and dedicated to problems of the Baltic and Black Sea cooperation and Russia’s role in “frozen conflicts.”
The International Summer Academy is organized by the Center for Geopolitical Studies (Vilnius) together with the Center for International and Regional Politics (St. Petersburg) under support of the Lithuanian government, Open Society Foundation, the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation, George C. Marshall Foundation and the US embassy in Lithuania.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine filed a lawsuit in the UN International Court of Justice against Russia within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, says the site of the Foreign Minister. Alexander Lukashenko on 9 January signed a decree № 8 "On the establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals." The document establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days at the entrance through the checkpoint "National Airport Minsk" for citizens of 80 countries, - reported the press service of the President of Belarus.
