Entire renovation of strategic forces in the country will be performed before 2020

Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Government Sergej Ivanov announced about the entire renovation of nuclear forces in the country. Modernisation was planned within the framework of the new armament programme to be adopted for the period of 2011 – 2020.

“The entire Russian satellite groupment will be fully replaced by modern equipment. Also a unique information system for the area of the battle field will be created. And, of course, new modern and intellectual military facilities will be introduced", – stated Vice prime Minister in the interview with “Rosij skaja Gazeta”.

Nanotechnologies will play a significant role in the armament of the Russian Federation, armament based on artificial intellect, and also new space developments. In particular, rocket complexes, observation systems, communication and navigation, including GLONASS, and also modern geodesic and meteorological facilities of the new generation will monitor the situation in the trans-galaxy space.

The Company “Suxoj” has already developed samples of nano-structurised materials, and this is not from the area of scientific fiction, but the reality”, underlined Sergej Ivanov.

Means planned for the renovation amount to 1 trillion roubles. By the end of March 2009 these means will be transferred to the accounts of 1400 strategic enterprises of the military-industrial complex.

According to the words of the General Nikolaj Makarov, at the General Headquarters of the Russian Federation, strategic nuclear forces will remain as before the key factor for Russia in restraining military threats.

In any case, stressed the General, Moscow is open for cooperation in the sphere of non-distribution of nuclear weapon.
