Straight after the appointment to the post of the minister of foreign affairs, Vygaudas Ušackas visited countries which are in the focus of attention of the Lithuanian foreign policy: he paid an official visit to Georgia,Ukraine and Belarus. Actually, Minsk has become the key point of the visit. In view of that, talks are heard about the change of the Lithuanian foreign policy towards Belarus from value based relations to an efficient dialogue economically beneficial to both states, including discussions in public on further relations of Lithuania and Russia: by his statements V.Ušackas promotes the opinion that during his ministerial term the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania will suspend its sharp speeches and actions towards Moscow and Moscow’s actions. How could we evaluate the first steps of the new head of the Lithuanian diplomacy in the international stage?

Alexander Lukashenko on 9 January signed a decree № 8 "On the establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals." The document establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days at the entrance through the checkpoint "National Airport Minsk" for citizens of 80 countries, - reported the press service of the President of Belarus.
