Russia is not going to be involved in “detrimental confrontation and a new type of military racing”, stated Nikolaj Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council, presenting the draft of the security strategy until 2020.
However, the document submitted by Patrushev on 24 March has not been approved. Despite the fact that the strategy had been agreed in advance with the members of the Security Council, certain proposals concerning the improvement of the strategy were offered during the discussions of the draft.
“We took one month for further improvement of the document. This will not change the strategy in the essence, but will introduce certain corrections”, noted Patrushev.
