  Piotr Telegrafov. Lithuania came to an agreement with Belarus on the transportation of the Venezuelan oil

Lithuania and Belarus came to an agreement on the transit of the Venezuelan oil via the Klaipeda sea port. It is planned to transport approximately 2,5 million tons of oil per year, reported Rokas Masiulis, General Director of the “Klaipedos Nafta”.

A bilateral working group have come to the agreement in Klaipeda on the transit of oil, however, the actual contract, according to the words of Masiulis, will be signed in October, reported Kurier.lt.

“By the end of October our economic subjects and the Lithuanian railway will sign actual contracts, according to which during the nearest two years starting from December this year we are going to transport no less than 2,5 million tons annually via the Klaipeda sea port by the Lithuanian and Belarus railway to our oil refinery enterprises”, - stated to the Lithuanian TV the First Deputy to the Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko.

According to the words of Masiulis, Lithuania is interested in as long as possible cooperation, while Belarus is willing to conclude short-term agreements. Masiulis is not sure that the agreement will be enforced this year.

Belarus was supplying the Venezuelan oil via other sea ports of the Ukraine, Estonia and Latvia as well. “The first three years will be the transit period, when we are going to decide with whom and on which terms we are going to cooperate, and whom we will give the priority”, - noted Semashko.

The State Secretary of the Transport Ministry of Latvia Andris Matiss reported that currently negotiations are taking place on the transportation of the Venezuelan oil to Belarus via the sea port of Ventspils.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine filed a lawsuit in the UN International Court of Justice against Russia within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, says the site of the Foreign Minister. Belarus has established a visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries (2)

Alexander Lukashenko on 9 January signed a decree № 8 "On the establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals." The document establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days at the entrance through the checkpoint "National Airport Minsk" for citizens of 80 countries, - reported the press service of the President of Belarus.
