The President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers invited the President of the Russian Federation Dmitrij Medvedev for a visit to Riga. This was reported by the heads of the states at the mutual press-conference on Monday, 20 December.
“I was pleased to hear this invitation. Actually, I have never been either in Riga or in Latvia in general. If we are going to communicate in this way as it is today, that would be sufficient for such a visit taking place, moreover, that we have what to talk about and what to see”, - said Medvedev, reported RIA Novosti.
From 19 to 22 December Valdis Zalters is on his first official visit to Russia, during which meetings with the President of the RF and the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin are planned.
