  Scientists are invited to participate in the project "Knowledge about Khojaly (26.02.1992) genocide and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in Lithuanian’s public opinion"

Public Agency Centre for Geopolitical Studies implements a project for raising Lithuanian societies’ awareness about Khojaly (26.02.1992) genocide and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The main aim of this project is to try to understand how cases of their nations genocide are perceived in Lithuanian and Azerbaijanian societies. How is the policy of history influenced by international opinion, how traumatic experiences are used for solving conflicts with neighboring countries and what ways of solving the conflicts are accepted in both societies?

We invite researchers to participate in our project. We invite to study and compare history and experiences of both societies as well as contemporary policy towards those conflicts, that we would understand how traumatic experiences are perceived in Lithuanian and Azerbaijani societies.

Within the framework of the project a trip to Azerbaijan is scheduled; Azerbaijani scholars who are interested in Khojaly (1992-02-26) genocide and Nagorno Karabaho conflict and are aware of its perception will gather in a round table scholar discussion with scholars from different counties and prepare a set of scientific articles on the topic.

Political, historical, sociological, international law researchers are invited to submit proposals and prepare articles for Lithuania and Azerbaijan, to familiarize societies with genocides and traumatic experiences both countries had suffered.

Selected scholars will be invited to visit Azerbaijan to take part in round table discussions and publish their works in a set of articles.

The honorarium will be committed for seven selected scientists.

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against Russia in the International Court of Justice for terrorism and racism (27)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine filed a lawsuit in the UN International Court of Justice against Russia within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, says the site of the Foreign Minister. This is done on the instructions of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, issued on 16 January.

Belarus has established a visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries (2)

Alexander Lukashenko on 9 January signed a decree № 8 "On the establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals." The document establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days at the entrance through the checkpoint "National Airport Minsk" for citizens of 80 countries, - reported the press service of the President of Belarus.
