The newly appointed Ambassador of Latvia to Armenia Elita Gavele (residence in Tbilisi) presented on 11 December her credentials to the President of the country Serzh Sargsyan.
As reported to IA REGNUM at the press service of the Armenian President, Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador with the appointment, expressing hope that during the years of her diplomatic mission Gavele will make every effort for further strengthening of the relations between Armenia and Latvia. The parties stressed the importance of developing Armenian-Latvian cooperation as in bilateral as in multilateral way.
Elite Gavele expressed willingness on behalf of her country to work closely with Armenia and provide assistance during the period of Latvia's presidency of the EU in the first half of 2015. She stressed that one of the priorities of Latvia during the EU presidency will be the programme "Eastern Partnership". The sides discussed the issues of strengthening political dialogue and the development of cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine filed a lawsuit in the UN International Court of Justice against Russia within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, says the site of the Foreign Minister. Alexander Lukashenko on 9 January signed a decree № 8 "On the establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals." The document establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days at the entrance through the checkpoint "National Airport Minsk" for citizens of 80 countries, - reported the press service of the President of Belarus.
