The US imposed sanctions against six State Duma Deputies from Crimea

The US imposed sanctions against six Ukraine State Duma deputies from the Crimea, reported the US Treasury Department.
The following deputies - Ruslan Balbec (former vice-president of the Crimean government), Konstantin Baharev, Andrej Kozenko, Svetlana Savchenko, Paul Shperov and Dmitry Belik are included in the list of sanctions.
Previously, these persons and some others were added to the list of sanctions by the EU. Among them was also the leader of the "Fair Russia" Sergei Mironov. In total 21 people were added to the EU list of sanctions. At the moment this list includes 157 Russian and Ukrainian citizens, and 37 organizations.
Measures against Russian and Crimean officials and companies were imposed by the EU after the peninsula was annexed to Russia in March 2014. US imposed sanctions on the peninsula in December 2014.
All included in the list of sanctions are considered by Brussels, Western countries and the United States responsible for "actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine."
