||Summer Academy in 2007
On 24-28 July 2007 the Centre of Geopolitical Studies executed a public initiative project Summer Academy: Frozen Conflicts: Possible Decisions, Dynamic and Perspectives.
Partner of the Project: the Centre of International and Regional Policy of St.Petersburg (Russia).
Sponsors of the Project: Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, The Open Society Fund Lithuania, Conrad Adenauer Foundation, the German Marshall Fund of the United States - Transatlantic Centre for Central and Eastern Europe, Embassy of the United States in Lithuania.
Participants of the SummerAcademy analyzed the issues like prevention, solutions and consequences of conflicts arising in the post-soviet space. A special attention was given to the role of the third countries (Russia, EU and its separate members, NATO, the US etc.) as well as to the experience in solving frozen conflicts and looking for the ways out from the complicated situation.
Participants of the Summer Academy - professional political scientists, politicians, diplomats, representatives of public and civil organizations, youth from the Baltic States, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Trans-Dniester Region, Georgia, Abkhasia and South Ossetia regions.
